Ovarian Cystectomy is any collection of fluid, surrounded by a very thin wall, within an ovary. Any ovarian follicle that is larger than about two centimeters is termed an ovarian cyst. Most ovarian cysts are functional in nature and harmless, and affect women of all ages. Some ovarian cysts cause problems, like bleeding and pain. If the cysts larger than 5cm in diameter that surgery must be required.

600um optical fiber

Operation procedure:

After comprehensive local anesthesia, penetrate 600um fiber into the catheter. And then put the catheter in to laparoscope that let the fiber out of the catheter about 1cm.
Setting the power 8-15w, start the laser, and control the fiber power experienced with foot switch.
After cyst puncture, used laser cut the cyst ovarian tissues surface, and peel out the cyst, cut down the base of cyst. Using 5-10w laser power (keep the laser tip with2-4mm distance with tissues) cautery the residual cyst wall and bleeding place.
4 hours to 2 days the patients could leave out the hospital.

Advantage:

Diode lasers 980nm have good effect on tissue coagulation and vaporization that makes the operation low power needed. The laser irradiations can hemostasis immediately at the same time of soft tissue cutting.
Because that the diode laser diathermy shallow, the clinical using is safe that can reduce the damage of the organs in depths.
The temperature of tissue surface can be reached 150° C, energy concentrated that make the soft tissue cutting faster.
Laser pilot beam make the cautery place exactly, it is easy to learn.

Notice:

Do not make the fiber tip bury into the tissues when you contact with the cyst tissue that may rupture the fiber.
The surgeon must be trained to control the power and clinical information experienced.
