about Wire Rope Sleeves and Ferrules
Wire rope sleeves and stops are wire rope accessories used to terminate the ends of wire rope and cable. A wire rope stop may be placed anywhere on the steel cable but is primarily used at the ends to keep the wire rope from fraying. Most sleeves and stops utilize a hydraulic press for swaging but some may be “hand swaged” by using a special swage tool. Before using sleeves with other type lay, construction or grade of wire rope, it is recommended that the termination be proofloaded to prove the adequacy of the assembly
Features
Hourglass/Oval Sleeves and stops can be made from a variety of materials depending on their application including aluminum, copper, stainless steel and galvanized steel.
Hourglass (duplex) shaped sleeves allow for the smoothest swage (crimp).
