The Pin & Grommet is a preassembled 2 piece fastener which is ideal for securing two panels together. Typically molded in nylon or acetal these fastness meet a broad range of performance specifications.In addition to their robust design, several of our pin & grommet fasteners have a low profile head and they are molded in color. These features make the pin & grommet fastener ideally suited for visual applications.Significant reductions in labor cost are derived when specifying the pin & grommet. These fasteners do not require tooling for assembly. This feature makes the pin & grommet ideal for high volume repetitive assembly type applications. Servicabilty and reusability also contribute to lower warranty and repair cost.Typical performance specifications for the pin & grommet fastener ranges from 55lbs tensile to 444lbs shear. These values are dependent upon the specific application. Products currently exist for hole sizes from 6.0mm to 8.0 mm, with panel thickness range from 1.0mm to 5.0mm thick. Molded in UV stabilized material these fastness meet the sun load requirements of the automotive OEMs without a reduction in fastener performance.Typical Application Layout
