Propolis or bee glue is a resinous mixture that honey bees collect from tree buds, sap flows, or other botanical sources. They are available and used in their hives. All the day long the bees get hygened by rubbing themselves on the propolis. It is today known that the propolis has antibiotic effect. Propolis is rarely available in its pure form. It is usually obtained from beehives and contains bee products. Within its structure, there are more than 300 isolated compounds. It is not always possible to be found pure and the common method to obtain it, is to steal from the hive. It is produced by bees in order to keep their hive hygenic.
