The main application of BP1 is as light stabilizer in plastics , which can effectively protect PMMA and clothing materials for being transnatured by light . It is also the intermediate for compounding other UV absorbers .
Applications :
BP - 1 BP1 is also applicable to polyolefin , PVC and polystyrene . BP1 is used as UV absorber , by which the Benzophenone like UV - 9 , UV - 531 and the monophydroxy , dihydroxy , trihydroxy and tetrahydroxy compounds can be derived , which are the most widely used absorbing light stabilizers , which can absorb UV light from 290 to 400nm and be widely applied to polymer materials with its good compatibility with synthetic resin . 2 , 4 Dihydroxybenzophenone is applicable to PVC , polystyrene , epoxy resin , cellulosic resin , coating and synthetic rubber , with its greatest absorption wavelength from 280 to 340nm and its general amount from 0.1% to 1% . But this product is not prominent in keeping light stability . The LD50 is 8600mg/kg for white rat orally and 2336 mg / kg for white mouse orally .
