Board Material Comparison

MDF =Medium Density Fiberboard

As known as MDF also known as fiberboard, is wood , trees and other objects soaked in water technology 

after hot milling , paving,  hot pressing , is a wood fiber or other plant fiber as raw material, is applied urea-formaldehyde resin or other suitable adhesive made from man-made sheet .

Advantages :be able to bear attack,  high strength , easy re-processing . 

Disadvantage :low water-proofing , poor nail holding power , hard to plane due to the large  weight .

MFC=Melamine Faced Board

Full name is melamine impregnated paper veneer plywood . 

It is with a different color or texture of the paper into the melamine resin adhesive soak , 

and then dried to a certain degree of curing . 

Advantage:Smooth surface, the same coefficient of expansion as double-sided sheet is not easy deformation,    bright colors, surface is wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant ,  affordable .

Disadvantage:Low-grade, easy to edge chipping ,  glue trace obviously , fewer colors ,only straight edge 

PVC=Polyvinyl Chloride Board

PVC board is a cross section of PVC as raw material for the honeycomb mesh structure of the plate .

Fire Board=HPL=Pecorative High-Pressure Lcminate

Scientific name thermosetting resin impregnated paper pressure laminates.

Surface decoration is refractory materials, there is a wealth of surface color , texture and special logistics 

performance, widely used in interior decoration, furniture,  cabinets,  laboratory table , wall and other fields.

Advantage:Easy to process,fire retardant,  environment friendly,durability,Economical and practical etc.

Disadvantage:So far ,there is no national or industry standards

Plywood

By the three or more layers one millimeter thick or thin veneer glue hot pressed . 

Handcrafted furniture is the most commonly used materials.

Advantage:The hardness of plywood is generally higher, due to the gluing process has materials,

                  textures,  perpendicular staggered , stronger, not easy to deformed.

Disadvantage:If the material is not sufficiently dry or production process problems, 

                      resulting sheet deformation , the force is difficult to adjust ; 

                      Further , smooth plywood surface as MDF , 

                      if the material is not sufficiently dry or production process problems, 

                      resulting sheet deformation , the force is difficult to adjustment ; addition, 

                       not the same as MDF plywood surface smooth.
