Dilution of concentrated Sulfuric Acid liberates considerable amount of heat. This heat of mixing causes the temperature of dilute acid to raise to the order of 1800 C and above.
Sulfuric Acid Dilution Cooler comprises of a mixing head followed by a multi-pass cubic block type heat exchanger.
Metered quantities of Concentrated Sulphuric Acid and water enter the mixing head and get thoroughly mixed. The diluted acid passes through the multiply-pass heat exchanger where it is continuously cooled. This prevents the rise in temperature of the product acid.
The dilute acid leaves the outlet at desired concentration and temperature.
