1)Anilineis an organic compound with the formula C6H7N. Aniline is thesimplest and one of the most important aromatic amines, being usedas a precursor to more complex chemicals.

2) Beinga precursor to many industrial chemicals, mainly used is inthemanufacture of precursors to polyurethane.

3)Thelargest application of aniline is for the preparation ofmethylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI).

4)Theother usages include rubber processingchemicals (9%), herbicides (2%), anddyes and pigments (2%).Theprincipal use of aniline in the dye industry is as a precursorto indigo, theblue of blue jeans.

5)Anilineis also used at a smaller scale in the production of theintrinsically conducting polymerpolyaniline.
