It has the performance of high purity, self-sharpening, acid and alkali resistance, high temperature thermal stability and lower toughness. It's hardness is slightly higher than brown fused alumina. The abrasives made of it are suitable for blasting and making bonded abrasives for grinding carbon copper and high speed steel. It can be also used as superior refractory materials.
