Description:
Type 201 stainless steel (UNS S 20100) is a low nickel, high-work hardening, austenitic chromium-nickel-manganese stainless steel that was developed to conserve nickel. It’s one of the nickel steels. Ni is replaced by Mn in this steel. With N, it possesses good hardness, thus it shows better anticorrosion property in normal dry environment. It does not harden with heat treatment but can be work hardened to high tensile strengths. This alloy is also often polished for cosmetic applications.
