Carbon electrodes are typically used in smelting operations. Carbon Electrodes are used in many industries including: silicon, yellow phosphorus, calcium carbide, and ferroalloy among others. Carbon electrodes have a larger arc bandwidth, diameter, pitch arc stabilization and higher smelting efficiency, leading to larger yields and lower consumption of electricity for some applications, than graphite electrodes.
